It is estimated that more than 200,000 Mongolians are born in foreign countries. About 30,000 Mongolians live in the United States alone. Children who are born and raised in a family with a language and culture different from the language and culture of the country they live in are called “heritage speakers”. The issue of how well our heritage speaking children can learn and master their heritage language is an important issue for the position of the Mongolian language and culture in the world in the future.
Parents who are raising their children in foreign countries have one problem: there are no textbooks or exercise books to read to their children and work together. These lessons have been prepared in order to help with that.
We have created the “Mongolyn Nuuts Tovchoo” e-course for children in need of improving or regaining their Mongolian skills. The Secret History of the Mongols should be read by every Mongolian, but it is difficult for foreign-born children to read and understand in its entirety, so we made a concise version written for children within a certain number of words.
